WayHome Festival in Ontario announces inaugural lineup

By February 12, 2015 No Comments

You could say your expectations could be high for a festival put on partially by the promoter behind Bonnaroo, and if the lineup for the first ever WayHome Festival is any indication, they’ve delivered the goods.

Among those playing the three-day festival in Oro-Medonte, Ontario (just north of Barrie) will be recent four-time Grammy winner Sam Smith, Alt-J, Kendrick Lamar, Modest Mouse, Hozier (of “Take Me to Church” fame) and St. Vincent. Lower down the bill are the Decemberists, Future Islands, Vance Joy, Danny Brown and Run the Jewels.

The festival will also have plenty of Canadian talent on hand, such as Sloan, Alvvays, the Sheepdogs, Metz and July Talk. Montreal-bred producer Kaytranada, who has recently been working with Rick Rubin, will also be playing the festival.

WayHome will be taking place from July 24 to 26. Tickets will be on sale Monday February 16, starting at $210 for general admission tickets.
Interestingly – and perhaps not coincidentally – the festival takes place one week before Osheaga in Montreal, which is a six and half-hour drive away. For further coverage of WayHome, stay tuned to Shoeclack.com.
