VELD announces 2017 lineup

Whoever said EDM was dead clearly didn't tell VELD's festival organizers. The Toronto music festival announced its 2017 lineup Tuesday, and it's as strong a bill as you can find for that genre – with a little trap and R&B thrown into the mix as well.

Topping this year’s lineup will be Atlanta rapper Future (who just released two straight #1 albums in February), Major Lazer and Tiësto.

Also playing the 2017 event will be some more hip hop fare like Migos (possibly the biggest rap group in North America – or at least the States – right now), Lil Uzi Vert (the guest rapper on Migos’ #1 smash “Bad and Boujee”) and Toronto’s own Tory Lanez.

On the EDM side of things, the festival has also booked Madeon, Borgore, Mark Knight, Tchami, Robin Schulz, W&W, Gareth Emery, and tech house heavyweight Nicole Moudaber among a host of others, with more artists still to be announced.

The 2017 VELD Music Festival will take place August 5 and 6 at Downsview Park in Toronto. Passes go on sale Thursday April 6 at 10 a.m. ET (though pre-sale is open as of today), with general admission passes going initially for $139.50 before getting bumped up to $149.50.
