Shoeclack’s Staff Picks – what not to miss at Osheaga 2015
It’s that time of year again, ladies and gents: Osheaga will be upon us this weekend, and around 45,000 are expected to trek to Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène in Montreal each day from July 31 to August 2. We here at Shoeclack are looking forward to this weekend just as much as anyone else is, and with that, our team has at least one act we’re looking forward to seeing this weekend. Without further ado, here's what each team member wants to see the most at this year’s edition of Osheaga.
Run The Jewels – Friday 3:25pm Scène Vertes
Why: Run the Jewels is smart and agressive. The old-school is renewed through devastating metaphors and hardcore beats infused with NYC finesse and ATL rawness. You have less than 3 days to listen to their two albums, become obsessed, see them at Osheaga and realize you have to see them again because you didn’t own the material enough. The living proof that rappers can age well. They’re alive and they’re hungry as f*ck.

BRAND NEW – Sunday 6:25pm Scène Verte
Why: Maybe it’s because albums like Deja Entendu and The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me were ones that played a pretty big role in my adolescence, but more than anything, they’re a solid live band that will be more than just a trip down memory lane for me. That said, here’s hoping they’ve got some new material to test out in front of the Osheaga crowd – it’s been six years already since their last LP.
3. Ryan Playground – Host
Tyler The Creator – Sunday 9:30pm Scène Verte
Why: Parce que ça fait des années que j’attends de le voir en show.
