All the after-parties of îleSoniq 2016

By August 5, 2016 No Comments

If you’re still feeling the highs from excitement (obviously) after raving it up at îleSoniq this weekend, fear not! There will be a host of afterparties to hit up both tomorrow night and Saturday night, featuring many DJs who will have played the festival earlier in the day. Check out the full list below.

Founded by the masked men of local electronic trio Black Tiger Sex Machine, this Montreal label will be putting on an afterparty with sets from several members of its family, in addition to some “super secret guests”.

Friday August 5, Le Belmont, 10 p.m., $10

Making her way to the îleSoniq bill at the tender age of 20, this Niagara Falls DJ/producer has seen her propulsive, dark underground techno style earn herself the nickname of “Girlsaffelstein”, as well as co-signs from deadmau5 and IleSoniq headliner Skrillex. With special guests Mr. Nokturn and Ozias.

Friday August 5, Newspeak, 10 p.m., $10

Loud Luxury

Speaking of co-signs from major electronic artists, this London, Ontario duo comprised of Joe Depace and Andrew Fedyk have gained some from Gorgon City and Oliver Heldens, and with their breezy deep house sound, such endorsements are definite boosts.

Friday August 5, New City Gas, 10 p.m., $20

Michael Sparks, Pierce Fulton and Seibaz

The Casino de Montreal may be an unconventional choice for an îleSoniq afterparty that involves watching more live music, but here we are: three producers with origins in multiple music scenes – Seibaz was a member of Montreal punk group Slaves on Dope – will take the stage at the Casino late Friday night.

Official îleSoniq after party at Circus

For those of you who claim to love to party it up until the wee hours of the morning: how long can you keep it going for, really? This after-hours afterparty will keep going til 10 a.m. at Circus on both nights of the festival, with sets from producers like Mike Robia, Stef Agostino and Starkillers on Friday, and Tomas, Karl K-Otik and Chris Element on Saturday. Check it out if you don’t mind messing up your sleep clock when all’s said and done.

Friday August 5 and Saturday August 6, Circus, 12 a.m. to 10 a.m., $20

Having once called Montreal home, this Vancouver-based producer got onto HW&W Recordings alongside Kaytranada and Ta-ku, received hype from multiple major publications, toured with Disclosure, and has even made his way onto a hot new single, producing “Dang!” by Mac Miller and Anderson .Paak. In other words, he’s on a roll. Special guests Charles Cozy and DJ Nav.

Saturday August 6, Newspeak, 10 p.m., $5

Andrew Bayer

Topping this bill at New City Gas will be this Washington, DC-based beatsmith signed to Anjunabeats (aka Above & Beyond’s record label), and his style is largely defined by euphoric, Ibiza-friendly trance – albeit the kind that is more about emotion and feeling rather than getting young clubgoers amped up and ready to rage.

Saturday August 6, New City Gas, 10 p.m., $20

Hannah Wants

This English producer from Birmingham is known for her brand of underground-indebted house music being heavy in both bass and raveability. For those who love the harder kind of house in its purest form, this afterparty is for you. Special guests White, AEIOU and Tulippe.

Saturday August 6, Fairmount Theatre, 11 p.m., $5
