Metallica to headline Friday night the 14th of July at Festival d’Été de Québec
If you watched the Grammy's this year, you probably saw Metallica perform with Lady Gaga. Then you'll be able to see Metallica in Québec City for the 50th anniversary of the Festival d'été de Québec (FEQ). It's gonna be a return for the band who was in Québec City in 2011.
The preferred metal formation of the people from Quebec city, Metallica, will be visiting the capital as part of their new WorldWired tour. The mythical Californian group will be present on the last weekend of the festivities to mark the 50th edition of the Quebec City Summer Festival (FEQ).
« Nous avions le désir de faire revivre à nos festivaliers l’un des moments les plus marquants de l’histoire du FEQ, a commenté Daniel Gélinas, le directeur général. Qui ne se souvient pas du spectacle de 2011 ? Québec a véritablement vibré au rythme de Metallica ce jour-là. La relation qui unit le quatuor à ses fans québécois est si intense qu’elle en faisait un élément incontournable de nos célébrations ». -Daniel Gélinas, Director FEQ
The expectations of the fans for the programming of the 50th edition of the Festival will undoubtedly be filled by the unveiling of this headliner always in high demand. More than 100,000 people attended the first Metallica concert at the FEQ in 2011. Two years earlier, the singer James Hetfield declared that the Quebec City Summer Festival was at the top of the list of events for which the group wanted to perform. It is therefore a unique history that has been developing for several years between the legendary formation and the FEQ.
Last November, Metallica released its latest album Hardwired … To Self-Destruct, which earned them their sixth mention of album # 1 at the Billboard’s Top 200.
