I want to road trip this summer and I love music. What can I do?

Who can’t wait to wait in line to use rank-smelling portable toilets, to experience the huge dilemma of choosing between bands playing at the same time, enduring the monopoly of overpriced food stands?

Fortunately, for those in the know, music festivals are much than that. They’re also an opportunity to spend time in the great outdoors watching your favourite artists with your friends. Here’s an (incomplete) itinerary of must-experience music festivals, courtesy of Shoeclack Radio.

Bonnaroo

June 12-15 , Manchester, Tennessee, USA

indexYou fill up on gas, you find your passport and you head for the US border. Eclectic line-up: Kanye West, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Disclosure, Andrew Bird, Cloud Nothings, Bobby Womack and many more. The festival doesn’t stream all of the performances like Coachella does, but Bonnarro has become an annual meeting for a big part of the music industry and for music fans, to the tune of over 90 000 people. WHAT, 90 000?
