The Great Escape (TGE) is a new music festival that showcases emerging artists from all over the world. Over 450 up and coming bands play in 30+ Brighton venues, accessible on one wristband. It’s the first place to discover your new favorite band and see them in an intimate setting before they go on to headline major festival stages.
TGE is also attended by the music industry who are on the hunt for the next big thing. We run a convention alongside the gigs featuring insightful panels, topical debates, keynote speeches and networking opportunities in abundance. The Alternative Escape, our Brighton Dome Shows, secret gigs, club nights and spontaneous collaborations all add the festivities and make this weekend in Brighton one not to miss.
Brighton, England only has a population of just over 273,000, but it’s certainly big enough to host a music festival taking place across 35 venues around the city. Not only that, but they pull it off nicely. There will be plenty of musical acts from different corners of the globe playing the festival, such as Alabama Shakes, Django Django and Kevin Devine. The festival isn’t short on Canadian content, either: among those playing in Brighton will be Arkells, Single Mothers and Tobias Jesso, Jr. as well as Montreal acts like TOPS, Groenland and No Joy. If you’re looking for a festival that will give you a close look at some emerging musical talent, you might not have to look much further than this.
Regular three-day wristbands are on sale at £54.45 (about $102.50 Canadian).
